The country's main Christmas tree will be installed in Kyiv, but there will be no celebrations
There will be no public events in Kyiv on Christmas and New Year's Eve.
No mass festive events will be organised in Kyiv on Christmas and New Year's Day. This decision was taken by the Kiev Defence Council in the interests of security. This was reported in the Kyiv city military administration.
But the Christmas tree will be! Installation work will begin on 3 December. The opening of the tree is scheduled for 6 December, - stated in the message.
The main Christmas tree of the country will stand until 10 January 2024.
The city will not spend money. As last year, the tree will be installed and decorated at the expense of patrons, - said Vitali Klitschko.
He stressed that mass events, fairs and entertainment on Sofia Square are not envisaged.
