Swindlers deceive relatives of prisoners and missing soldiers

Fraudsters use a scheme to deceive relatives of military personnel who have been captured or missing.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, using the emotional state of relatives and friends, the attackers make phone calls from hidden numbers and offer to "provide information" about the military and "facilitate release from captivity" for a monetary reward.
The scammers are also trying, allegedly for the purpose of clarifying, to find out the personal data of Ukrainian defenders.
We officially announce that representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or other military authorities or state institutions do not raise funds and do not resolve issues of release from captivity by ransom, the General Staff noted.
It is noted that the issues of the release of prisoners of war are in the exclusive competence of state authorities.
