Office of the Prosecutor General announced suspicion of high treason against the former Minister of Defense of Ukraine Mikhail Yezhel

The Office of the Attorney General reports reported by the Office of the Attorney General.

The Admiral, who at one time was the Commander-in-Chief of the Naval Forces of Ukraine and understood all the risks of extending the stay of the Russian fleet on the territory of Ukraine, agreed on the entire package of documents necessary for the implementation of the Agreement between Ukraine and the Russian Federation on the issues of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine dated 21 April 2010, the so-called "Kharkiv agreements", - explain in the State Bureau of Investigation.

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine agreed upon the drafts of these documents without even attending a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on April 21, 2010, where they were discussed, and also without conducting a mandatory legal examination on the compliance of the draft Agreement with the Constitution and the laws of Ukraine.

The State Bureau of Investigation emphasizes that the "Kharkiv agreements" contributed to the build-up of the "military machine" of the Russian Federation and the further escalation of the conflicts between the Russian Federation against Ukraine.

Because of this (the signing of the "Kharkiv agreements" - ed.), conditions were created for extending the stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory of Ukraine for 25 years, which contributed to the build-up of military equipment and personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, - add the press service of the SBI.
