Most of the Ukrainians who fled the war are women with children, most of whom plan to return to their homeland.
This is what DW writes.
Ukrainians do not need a visa to enter the EU. Аccording to the EU directive, they immediately receive temporary protection without a lengthy asylum procedure (Asyl).
Refugee profile
Women: the overwhelming majority of those who fled Ukraine are women (80%), almost half of them (48%) have small children.
Men. 71% of Ukrainians came to Germany with family members - wives, adult daughters and grandchildren. 6% came to join their wives who were already in Germany. 16% were unmarried men without children. Among them there were many elderly and disabled people.
Age: The average age of Ukrainian refugees in Germany is 28. 72% have higher education.
Are they planning to return?
The majority of Ukrainians and Ukrainians interviewed in Germany (96%) say that they are fleeing from the war, some adding that they are also fleeing from economic hardship.
34% of Ukrainians want to remain in Germany until the end of the war in their homeland, 26% plan to stay here permanently, 11% - for several more years, and 2% - for a year at most. The rest are undecided.
Two thirds of the refugees come from war-torn regions: from the east (32%), from the south of Ukraine (14%) and from Kiev (19%).
