To date, the bodies of 541 dead Ukrainian defenders have been delivered to the territory controlled by Ukraine. This was stated by the Commissioner for Missing Persons under Special Circumstances Oleg Kotenko.
He pointed out that the international organization Red Cross contributed to the return of the bodies of the military. It was its representatives who took over the communication with the Russian side.
It is difficult to negotiate with the aggressor, but we have already managed to return 541 dead defenders,” Kotenko said.
He added that 428 bodies of Ukrainian defenders were delivered from Mariupol, of which more than 300 dead were defenders of Azovstal.
We return the dead from Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Kherson, Kharkov, Luhansk directions - from everywhere, - Kotenko noted.
