US forms new military aid package for Ukraine

The new aid package will cost about $200 million.
The administration of US President Joe Biden will announce a new arms package for Ukraine next week, calculated from the funds discovered due to a multi-billion dollar accounting error. This is reported by Reuters.
According to the publication's anonymous sources, the funds discovered allowed the Biden administration to send additional weapons, supplies and ammunition to Kiev despite the exclusion of new aid to Ukraine from the temporary spending bill passed by the House of Representatives last weekend.
The Pentagon still has about $5.4 billion of the president's budget-cutting authority granted by Congress," the agency points out.
As for the aid, as Reuters writes, the package is being formed and what it will include will become clear on Wednesday at the 16th meeting of the Ukrainian Defence Contact Group in Brussels, where security assistance will be a key topic.
The new aid package is expected to cost about $200 million and may include similar ammunition and ground vehicles that were in the last aid packages.
We shall remind you that the US Congress did not include new funding for aid to Ukraine in the temporary budget law.
