In Spain confiscated, stolen in Ukraine, ancient gold jewellery with a total value of 64 million dollars.

This is reported by Reuters.

11 items of ancient gold artefacts have been seized in Spain. Among the confiscated jewellery, including elaborate beads, bracelets and earrings that date back to the Greco-Scythian period between the 8th and 4th centuries BC.

The intruders were caught in Madrid while trying to sell the valuables.

It is known that the exhibits were displayed in the Kiev museum in 2009-2013 and were illegally exported from Ukraine in 2016. According to the Spanish police, the artefacts have forged documents, according to which the valuables allegedly belong to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

Three Spanish citizens and two Ukrainian citizens were detained as part of the investigation, which began in 2021.

The Spanish National Police shared a video of the confiscated valuables, on which you can recognise the "Scythian gold".
