Letters from Ukrainian women were skilfully woven into the musical performance. The famous German actress became the voice of Ukrainian women that evening.

A charity gala concert of the Lviv National Symphony Orchestra was held in Germany at the Berlin Philharmonic on 13 December as part of the Sound of Ukraine project. The organisers of the concert informed Socialportal about it.

At the beginning of the charity concert "Sound of Ukraine to the free world" the vice-president of the Bundestag of Germany Kathrin Goering-Ekardt addressed the audience.

She emphasised that peace for Ukraine should be just, Ukrainians should live in a free, not occupied country.

Your music is a message to Vladimir Putin: Ukraine will win," the vice-president of the German parliament emphasised.

Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Oleksiy Makeev assured that Ukrainians will do everything so that we all together in the 21st century could celebrate peaceful Christmases. Now, quiet nights are provided to Ukrainians by, among other things, German Gepard SAU, Iris-T and Patriot systems.

"Szczedryk" by Mykola Leontowicz at the Berlin Philharmonic shows that the traditions of cultural diplomacy continue, because for more than 100 years this melody was performed here by the choir of Alexander Koschitz.

One could learn about the history of the carol "Shchedrika" at the stand exhibition organised by the representative office of the Ukrainian Institute in Germany in the foyer of the Philharmonic.

The soundtrack to the book Light from Darkness. Letters from Ukrainian Women to the Free World" - "Call me freedom", created by Geri Hyle.

Iryna Frenkel, the organiser of the Charity Concert, head of the concert agency "OPEN MUSIC PROJECT", told about the project "Sound of Ukraine", the author of which she is, and within the framework of which 58 concerts have been held since 2022.

The Sound of Ukraine project aims to support the SAVE UKRAINIAN CULTURE initiative, which unites more than 200 organisations.

The main coordinator of the platform is the international charitable foundation "UA: Renaissance", created to support creative people who stay in Ukraine.

For me personally, as an organiser of this project, it was important to combine music with words: Music from Ukraine. Letters from Ukraine. Voices from Ukraine. We were able to bring together women from Germany and Ukraine. Five strong women: Bohdana Pivnenko (violin), Violina Petrichenko (keyboard), Mala Emde (actress), Cornelia Lantz (singer) Aurelie Bros (writer) told their stories through music, words, singing, - said Irina Frenkel.

Letters of Ukrainian women were skilfully woven into the musical action. Mala Emde, a famous German actress, became the voice of Ukrainian women this evening, reading two letters: a woman from Mariupol Christina Parioti and a woman from Chernihiv.

Volodymyr Sivokhip, People's Artist of Ukraine conducted the final important finale of the concert.

Under the direction of Theodore Kuhar, the Overture "The Night Before Christmas" by Evgeny Stankovich, the Violin Concerto by Jan Sibelius and Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" were performed.

The charity gala concert was held with the support of the Ukrainian Art Renaissance Charitable Foundation.
