The ultra-difficult mission to rescue Ukrainian children was accompanied by delays at occupiers' checkpoints and intimidation.

Six more Ukrainian children have been returned from the temporarily occupied territories in Kherson Region. This was reported by the head of the Kherson regional state administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.

Six children have been returned to the Ukrainian-controlled territory and rescued from the camps of Russian occupants. They are a girl and five boys aged from 5 to 12 years old," he said.

The parents decided to leave the occupation because of the threat of sending their children for so-called "recuperation". There were cases in the occupation when children were taken away and not returned home.

The Save Ukraine organisation worked on the return of children. A very difficult mission to rescue children was accompanied by delays at checkpoints and intimidation.

Now all the children are safe. Medics and psychologists are working with them.

Prokudin noted that since the beginning of 2024 on the territory controlled by Ukraine managed to return from the occupation 84 children from the Kherson region.

Earlier Socialportal reported that in 2023 the International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Putin and the Russian Commissioner for children's rights Maria Lvovo-Belova, suspected of illegal forced transfer of Ukrainian children to the Russian Federation.

In the same year, six children who managed to escape the occupiers provided the court with evidence of how they were forcibly removed to the Russian Federation after losing their relatives.
