Scholz remembered Ukraine in his Easter address to the nation

Scholz emphasised that Ukraine's support is needed "also for us, for our security".
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz addressed the nation on the occasion of Easter and stated the need for a just peace. The politician also called for further support for Ukraine, Die Welt writes.
Peace without freedom means oppression. There is no peace without justice. That is why we support Ukraine in its struggle for a just peace - for as long as necessary," Scholz said.
Scholz emphasised that supporting Ukraine is also important for Germans themselves.
For many decades, peace in Europe has been based on a very important principle: borders should not be moved by force. Never again! And Vladimir Putin's Russia has violated this principle," he said.
He also emphasised that Europe can make this principle work again.
Germany, he said, will also invest more in its own security and will not let itself be torn apart.
All the more so because we are united by the conviction that law must triumph over violence - he added.
The chancellor concluded his video message by wishing happy holidays "even in these difficult times."
