Russia's war with NATO is possible - Zelensky

Russia is openly threatening countries that are members of the North Atlantic Alliance.

Russia's war with NATO is possible, and the aggressor country may launch a first strike against the Baltic states. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in an interview with Brazilian journalists.

He emphasised that a direct conflict between NATO and Russia is possible if Ukraine does not resist.

If we do not withstand all this, but I believe that this will not happen, but suppose we do not withstand, then Russia does not have many steps where to go next. They will come to the Baltic states, whether someone wants it or not, they say it won't happen, all these arguments are unnecessary - they will definitely come, because they need somewhere to go forward," he said.

Zelensky noted that all empires have followed a similar scenario, and for Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, the safest thing to do would be to go up against countries that can't put up much opposition.

He won't make that mistake a second time, because it's easier with a smaller country. Less defended, fewer people, fewer weapons. And it will be a country that was in the Soviet Union. And the Baltic countries fall under that. And it will go there," the President pointed out.

Zelensky noted that in this case it will be difficult for Western troops to knock the Russians out of the Baltic territories.

And then it will be a victory of Russia over NATO countries. And then there will be a redistribution of territories around the world," the head of state said.

We would like to point out that Russia is building up its armament and, according to analysts, is capable of waging war on the territory of Ukraine for two more years.
