- Russians occupied the town of Hornyak, from which Ukrainian TV was broadcasting

on 27 October, it became known that the town of Gornyak, located in the Kurakhovska municipal community of the Pokrovskyy district of Donetsk Region, had been seized by the Russian military.
This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, citing DeepState.
In addition, the occupants' advancement in other localities such as Selidove, Bohoyavlenka and Novoukrainka, as well as near Shakhterskiy and Novoalekseevka, has been recorded.
At the time of the full-scale invasion, more than 10,000 people lived in Gornyak. In September 2018, a new 190-metre-high television tower was erected in the town, which became the tallest in the history of Ukraine's independence. It was intended to broadcast Ukrainian TV programmes to the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk region.
The occupation of Gornyak is part of Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, and this seizure highlights the growing threats to civilians and the independence of Ukrainian media.
