Russian Federation arrests US and Russian citizen for helping the AFU

A woman with dual citizenship of the Russian Federation and the USA has been arrested in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg and a criminal case of state treason has been opened against her. This was reported by the Russian mass media on 20 February with reference to the Public Relations Centre of the Russian Federal Security Service.

It is noted that the woman was collecting funds to help the Ukrainian army.

In Yekaterinburg the illegal activities of a 33-year-old resident of Los Angeles, who has dual citizenship of Russia and the United States, involved in providing financial assistance to a foreign state in activities against the security of our country, - reported in the FSB.

According to the special service of the Russian Federation, since February 2022, the woman "proactively collected funds in favour of one of the Ukrainian organisations, which were subsequently used for the purchase of tactical medicine items, equipment, means of defeat and ammunition by the Armed Forces of Ukraine", as well as, while in the United States, repeatedly took part in actions in support of Ukraine.
