The Southern District Military Court in the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don has sentenced special forces of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry Oleksandr Lyubas to 20 years in prison.

Oleksandra Lyubasa was captured in October 2023 during an attempt to land a landing group on the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula.

The Russian court found the Ukrainian guilty of "terrorism, illegal border crossing and smuggling of weapons and explosives".

We shall remind you that on 4 October, the Russian Defence Ministry said about the attempted landing of a sabotage group of the AFU in Crimea. Later, the GUR of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported a special operation with the landing of paratroopers on the peninsula.

One of the Ukrainian intelligence special forces was captured.
