The number one objective of Russia's rearmament programme is to prepare it for war with NATO for 2030.

Russia is launching the largest rearmament programme since 1980 aimed at preparing for a large-scale war with NATO. The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Kyrylo Budanov, said this in an interview with Moseychuk+.

According to him, more than $1.1 trillion has been allocated for the rearmament programme, and the bulk of these funds will be spent until 2030. After that, the pace of funding is planned to be reduced.

Budanov stressed that these measures are part of a systemic document that defines Russia's preparation for a full-scale armed confrontation with NATO.

According to the Main Intelligence Directorate, the key regions where Moscow expects a potential conflict are the Baltic States, Finland, Norway and the entire northern flank of NATO. These are the areas where Russia's main strategic plans are centred.

Earlier, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said that Europe is again "facing a military threat that has not been seen in 30 years" and warned of the possibility of a Russian attack in five to eight years.
