Russia has become more active in shelling border areas - State Border Guard Service of Ukraine
The Russians are actively shelling Ukrainian territory from various types of weapons.
The Russians have increased the intensity of shelling of Ukrainian border areas. In June alone, the number of attacks on Ukraine in the border zone tripled. This was reported by a representative of the State Border Service, Andriy Demchenko, at a briefing on 14 June.
According to him, most enemy attacks on the border area take place in the north.
The enemy has been committing such actions on a daily basis since April last year, when it was kicked out of Chernihiv and Sumy regions, and subsequently from a significant part of Kharkiv region, he pointed out.
Speaking about the intensity of shelling, Demchenko pointed out that since the beginning of this year Chernihiv, Sumy and Kharkiv regions have been shelled by the enemy about 1,000 times. Sumy and Kharkiv regions account for the most shelling.
It should be noted that the authorities of Sumy Region cancelled the forced evacuation of residents of the five-kilometre zone in the communities bordering Russia. The evacuation will be carried out in a planned manner, after citizens make a decision. Those who want to stay will sign a corresponding statement.
We would like to add that Russians often try to infiltrate the border communities as part of DRGs.
