Russia transfers T-62M tanks manufactured in the 60s to Ukraine

Due to the numerous losses of armoured vehicles, the enemy removes Soviet weaponry from storage.

Military journalist and serviceman Yevgeny Butusov said that a train of T-62M tanks, produced in the 60s and restored at the 103rd armored repair plant, are being transported to the front in Russia:

The train goes to the front in Ukraine to arm the "second army of the world"

He pointed out that Russia does not have time to restore the loss of tanks:

They receive tanks from Belarus, T-72 and T-80 tanks from storage bases restored at factories, they produce new T-72B3M, T-90M, T-80BVM tanks in three shifts, but this is not enough, so mass deliveries of T-62 very important for the Russians. In the strategic Kherson direction during the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in September, the Russians lost an entire battalion of T-62Ms, about 30 of these tanks were destroyed and captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine

According to Butusov, the Russian Federation is gathering all its forces to turn the tide of the war, and is saturating the army with military equipment to the maximum:

The enemy retains an advantage in armored vehicles, as in all other types of heavy weapons

At the same time, Butusov stressed that the use of old equipment by the Russians indicates that Russian resources are not unlimited, the Ukrainians are successfully crushing the enemy, and "they are trying to throw everything they can find at hand" into battle.

The Russians started using the T-62 in the war against Ukraine relatively recently. Although last year a batch of such tanks was reactivated in Buryatia and moved to the border of Ukraine in the Rostov region. In addition, in May 2022, a train was seen moving towards Ukraine, loaded with a batch of reactivated T-62 tanks.
