During Russian air attacks, Russian drones frequently violate Romanian airspace.

Romania's upper house of parliament, the Senate, on Wednesday, 26 February, passed a law that allows the shooting down of drones that violate its airspace. About it writes AFP.

The bill was approved with 78 votes in favour, 11 were against and two abstained.

According to the adopted law, foreign drones that will illegally cross Romania's state border and fly in the national airspace without prior authorisation "may be destroyed, neutralised or taken under control".

After parliamentary approval, the law will go to the signature of the president, whose duties are fulfilled by Ilie Bolhogan.

Recall that at the end of October last year, the Romanian Ministry of Defence submitted for public discussion a draft law that strengthens measures to regulate airspace, drones and other aircraft.

In December, the government approved the Defence Ministry's bill, which provides for the possibility of shooting down drones that violate the national airspace.

In the border area on the Romanian side of the Danube, the military has already repeatedly found wreckage of attack drones used by Russia to attack southern regions of Ukraine.
