The law ensures Ukraine's accession to the Ukraine-EU common roaming zone. Roaming services in the EU for Ukrainians will now be provided at no extra charge.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law on the implementation of the EU legislation on roaming. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada on 18 June.

The Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Concerning the Implementation of European Legislation on Roaming" (draft law No. 10265) was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on 22 May as one of the conditions for Ukraine's European integration in the field of electronic communications.

The law ensures that Ukraine joins the Ukraine-EU common roaming zone and that Ukrainians receive roaming services in EU countries in the Roaming at Home (RLAH) mode.

RLAH mode means that during the stay in the EU phone calls, SMS and data transfer are included in the basic package of services. Accordingly, roaming services in the EU for Ukrainians are provided at no extra charge.

Users of European operators who come to Ukraine will also be able to take advantage of the common roaming zone.

The Rada noted that thanks to this law will significantly improve the investment climate for business in the field of electronic communications, and Ukrainian business will receive a greater degree of confidence, working under common rules with partners from the EU.

Earlier Socialportal reported that in 2023 the EU decided to extend the roaming-free regime for Ukrainian citizens.

Also, in 2022 in Ukraine launched "national roaming". If the towers of one mobile operator will not work, you can manually connect to another operator.
