Russia shells Energodar, blocking IAEA mission
They are shooting at Energodar with mortars, machine guns and shells, aircraft have been involved, there are dead and wounded as a result of shelling.
The mayor of Energodar, Dmitry Orlov, announced this.
The Russians are shelling the pre-agreed route of the IAEA mission from Zaporizhzhia to the ZNPP. The UN advance party cannot proceed for security reasons. Ukraine continues to ensure safe access for the IAEA international mission to ZNPP. We demand the Russian Federation to stop provocations and provide unimpeded access to the IAEA to the Ukrainian nuclear facility, - said the head of the Zaporizhzhya OVA Oleksandr Starukh.
According to Zerkalo Nedeli, the IAEA mission is now in Zaporizhia, and they were not allowed into Energodar.
Residents of Energodar report gunfights in the city. Mobile communication is unavailable, and fires are seen in the town and the ZNPP region. It is also reported that there is no water supply in part of the city.
At the same time, propagandists write that the troops of the Armed Forces of Ukraine landed in Energodar, which they allegedly liquidated.
Energoatom reported that due to mortar attacks at the Zaporizhzhya NPP, emergency protection worked, and the working 5th power unit was turned off.
Reuters reported that the IAEA mission left Zaporizhzhia for Energodar despite shelling the city.
