Staff decision: Bakhmut defence to continue

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski today chaired a regular meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's headquarters to discuss the defence of Bakhmut.

This was reported by the presidential press service.

It is noted that the members of the Stavka heard reports by the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the commanders of the operational-strategic groupings of troops on the current situation at the front.

Having considered the progress of the defensive operation in the Bakhmut direction, all members of the Stavka expressed a common position on the further maintenance and defence of the town of Bakhmut.

The meeting also analysed the provision of weapons and ammunition to the defence units on the front line.

The pace and volume of equipment and ammunition supply from Ukraine's partners and their distribution among the groupings of troops were discussed separately.

The meeting was attended by Yermak, Budanov, Zaluzhny, Shmygal, Danilov, and the commanders of the troops and operational areas.
