Putin has called for reservists to attend a military assembly in 2024

The Russians say the gathering is allegedly "part of planned annual events" and is aimed at improving the combat training of reservists.
Kremlin chief Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the call-up of Russian citizens in reserve for military training camps in the Russian Armed Forces in 2024.
According to the document, the assembly "is part of planned annual events" and is aimed at improving the combat training of reservists.
Those who received a military rank during compulsory military service or while studying at a university are obliged to take part in the training camp.
According to the decree, reservists will be sent to:
- armed Forces;
- national Guard troops;
- rescue military formations of the Ministry of Emergency Affairs;
- state protection bodies;
- Federal Security Service.
The duration of the training camps, their place and time are determined by the Ministry of Defence, but the duration, as stated in Russian legislation, cannot exceed two months.
