Czech president speaks out on Ukraine's accession to NATO

Ukraine cites accession to NATO as one of its strategic goals.
Czech President Petr Pavel said at a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg that he supported Ukraine's accession to the alliance. This was reported by Ceske Noviny.
The head of state also noted that Ukraine needs support on the way to ending the war and post-war reconstruction. Piotr Paul called Ukraine's accession to the North Atlantic Alliance an unavoidable event.
I am glad we all understand that there is no alternative but to support Ukraine. The alternative is Russia's success, which would mean many more problems for us and perhaps even more serious problems than we have today," the Czech leader said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zeleksy believes that Ukraine should rightfully take its place in this organization.
We shall remind you that the Lithuanian Seimas adopted a resolution for the NATO summer summit in Vilnius. It includes an official invitation for Ukraine to join the alliance.
