Aftermath of Russian missile strike on Uman on 8 June: 26-year-old victim's leg cut off

The woman is currently in intensive care in Kiev.
The day before, on 8 June, the Russian military shelled Uman. An enemy missile hit a car wash. One of the victims was 26-year-old Olena Holubenko. Doctors amputated the woman's leg and she is now in a serious condition in one of the clinics in the capital. The UP.Zhytty journalists talked to Olena's relatives.
They said that at the time of the tragedy Elena's husband was on a business trip, and her daughter was staying with neighbours. Olena herself was on her way back from shopping when she heard the alarm. In order to hide from possible gunfire, the woman ran into a car wash, which was close by.
She was talking to her husband on the phone and told him that "something must be flying". Immediately after she said this, he heard an explosion and the connection was cut off instantly," said a relative of the family.

The same night Yelena was operated on. Doctors in Uman had to cut off her leg "up to her thigh".
The next day Yelena was transported to a hospital in Kiev. Now the woman is in intensive care, where doctors continue to fight for her life. Her family is currently looking for qualified doctors, also abroad, who are able to help her with her rehabilitation.
The woman is known to be a kindergarten teacher. At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Olena helped with the evacuation of relatives and friends from Kiev.
We shall remind you that on the evening of 8 June, an air-raid alert was declared throughout Ukraine. At that moment it became known about the explosions in Uman. The head of the Cherkasy OVA, Igor Taburets, reported two hits as a result of enemy shelling. The occupants hit an industrial facility and a car wash.
