Recall that on Saturday morning, 7 October, the terrorist group Hamas carried out a large-scale attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, firing several thousand rockets on Israeli territory, as well as breaking the border in several places. The terrorists took hostages and also claimed control of an Israeli military base.
Today, Sunday, 8 October, Israel's political-military cabinet endorsed the introduction of paragraph 40 Aleph, which means a formal declaration of war. This clause has not been introduced in the country since 1973.
Meanwhile, new figures have emerged on the casualties of the invasion of Israel by Hamas militants. The escalation has killed more than 500 people and injured nearly 1,900. These are not final figures, as many people are missing.
