Poland and Baltic states discuss possible strike on St Petersburg - Bild

Poland is buying long-range AGM-158 JASSM-ER air-launched cruise missiles from the US.
The Baltic States and Poland do not rule out that Russia may invade their territory and are preparing for defence. They say that if Russian troops cross the border with Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia or Poland, the allies will strike all strategic facilities of the aggressor country within a radius of 300 kilometres in the first minute. Bild writes about it.
The publication points out that in this case St. Petersburg will be under attack.
We will attack St. Petersburg directly," Polish Chief of General Staff Raimund Andrzejczak said at the Defending Baltics conference.
In his opinion, the scenario of a direct clash with the Russians is probable. At the same time, he believes that the Baltic States and Poland have several years to prepare for a direct conflict.
Ukraine gives us a few years. If Russia wins in Ukraine, we will have one Russian division in Lviv, one in Brest and one in Grodno," he said.
Andrzejczak added that an attack on Poland or the Baltic states would mean a total confrontation between the West and the Russian Federation. He also pointed out that Poland has already started buying arms, in particular, Warsaw has made an order for 800 missiles with a range of up to 900 kilometres. Its talking about the AGM-158 JASSM-ER. This is an American high-precision air-to-ground cruise missile developed by Lockheed Martin. The operational range of the AGM-158A missiles is 360 km, while the JASSM-ER modification missiles can fly at a range of up to 1000 km.
In turn, the commander of the Lithuanian army Raimundas Vaikschnoras emphasised that in case of aggression by Russia, the Baltic States would strike on their own without waiting for NATO's decision.
It should be noted that a number of analysts believe that Russia may attack Western countries at the end of 2024 or at the beginning of the next year, when the United States will not be able to come to the aid of European countries quickly due to the re-election of the president, but only after some delay.
