Peskov said Putin expects to be re-elected next year

Putin has a lot of support among the Russian population, Peskov pointed out.
Vladimir Putin will be re-elected in next year's presidential election and will be supported by more than 90 per cent of voters. This was stated by Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov in a commentary for The New York Times.
Our presidential election is not really a democracy, it's an expensive bureaucracy. Putin will be re-elected next year with more than 90 per cent of the vote,'' he said.
The New York Times writes that Putin's support in Russian Federation is quite high. His popularity dropped only once, last September, when partial mobilisation was announced in Russia.
Then the drop in Putin's support was the biggest in 30 years of polls - from about 80 per cent to 50 per cent.
Russian presidential elections will be held in March 2024.
