Zaluzhny noted that, unlike Russian war criminals, the Ukrainian side complies with the norms of international humanitarian law, including with regard to the treatment of prisoners of war.

The Armed Forces of Ukraine will avenge every dead or maimed soldier. The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny wrote about this on Facebook .

Russia is a terrorist state. The atrocities the Russians are committing to our prisoners of war are infuriating. We will avenge every brother who is killed or maimed,” he wrote.

He stressed that "unlike Russian war criminals, Ukrainians comply with the norms of international humanitarian law."

We will do everything possible and impossible to punish the perpetrators of crimes against our brothers, sisters and civilians. Know, enemies, there will be no place for you on Earth, - said the head of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Recall, on the morning of Friday, July 29, pro-Russian militants in the occupied part of the Donetsk region reported the mass death of Ukrainian soldiers as a result of a strike on the Yelenovskaya colony. According to Russian media, more than 50 dead are already known, more than a hundred people are injured.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that the correctional facility was fired upon by the Russian Armed Forces, but everything was set up in such a way as to accuse Ukraine of this "war crime", to hide the torture of prisoners of war and executions.

In turn, the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine stated in Telegram that the murder of Ukrainian prisoners in Yelenovka, Donetsk region, was organized by mercenaries of the Wagner PPK. The order to kill was given by Yevgeny Prigozhin (the nominal owner of the said PMC), without coordinating this with the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

According to scouts, the explosion could have been arranged to hide the facts of the theft of funds allocated for the maintenance of prisoners.

Azov responded to the massacre. They announced a hunt for all those involved in the massacre of Ukrainian prisoners of war in Yelenovka. As Andrey Biletsky , the founder of the Azov Regiment, stated in Telegram, the responsibility lies with everyone who had anything to do with the smarts of the Ukrainian military, and each of them will be punished.

Wherever you hide, you will be found and exterminated,” he declared.

It is known that after the murder of prisoners of war in Yelenovka by Russian invaders, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense, the SBU and the Ombudsman of Ukraine demanded that the UN and the ICRC, acting as guarantors of the life and health of Ukrainian soldiers, send their representatives to the colony. Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets asked the International Committee of the Red Cross to organize a visit to the colony destroyed by the Russians in occupied Yelenovka to inspect the bodies of dead Ukrainian prisoners of war and communicate with the wounded. Representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross have submitted a request and will try to get to the shelled colony in Yelenovka.

Mikhail Podolyak, adviser to the head of the office of the President of Ukraine, also stated in his Telegram channel that "there is a carefully planned attack on the colony" by the enemy.

Aleksei Arestovich stated that, according to the pyrotechnicians he interviewed, the victims shown on the video were dead even before the explosion, which, apparently, was arranged inside the building.

In turn, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba called on the country's partners to condemn the "gross violation of international humanitarian law" and "recognize Russia as a terrorist state."
