Russians will use more strike UAVs than missiles in autumn - Ignat
In the autumn-winter period of 2023, the Russians will not be able to launch massive missile strikes as they did last year. However, they will rely on the use of UAVs.
The speaker of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ignat, said this, Dzerkalo Tyzhnya weekly has reported.
Ignat believes that Ukraine needs to strengthen its air defence, as the enemy is likely to use more UAVs during the autumn-winter period. We are talking about the period from September to March.
We have experience of the autumn-winter period of the enemy's use of strike UAVs and missiles in large numbers. These are the Kalibras and the Kh-101 and Kh-555. During this period exactly attacks on the fuel and energy sector, about 750 drones and 750 missiles were shot down," Ignat noted.
He added that at the moment the Russians do not have enough missiles for attacks. Despite the fact that the enemy is constantly manufacturing ammunition it cannot restore the exhausted stockpile. It is believed that the Russian Federation can produce 100 missiles of different types every month. So probably the enemy will bet on kamikaze drones - they are cheaper and easier to produce.
I think that Russia will bet more on kamikaze drones, which are cheaper and easier to produce. But missiles will also be produced and we should also prepare for that. Our task is to strengthen as much as possible air defence means that our partners give us, - emphasised Ignat.
Earlier Socialportal reported that Ukrainians are warned that the winter may be difficult. Therefore, the government has begun to check the readiness of "Points of indestructibility".
