Military units did not receive part of the humanitarian aid. The State Customs Service jointly with the Ukrainian Defence Ministry detected more than 3,000 such cases.
This is reported by the State Customs Service.
Since the beginning of 2023, Ukraine has checked 9,000 cases of moving humanitarian aid to the military. More than 3 thousand of them never reached their destination.
During 9 months of 2023, as a result of joint activities of the Department of combating smuggling and violations of customs rules of the State Customs Service and the Department of Internal Audit of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine checked more than 9 thousand facts of movement of humanitarian aid goods to 200 military units, as well as established more than 3 thousand cases of failure to confirm its receipt in military units - reported in the State Customs Service of Ukraine
To punish the guilty, law enforcers were sent 387 reports of violations, which contain elements of an offence under Art. 190, 358, 201-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. And also 320 protocols on violation of customs rules were drawn up, where the subjects of offences are humanitarian aid goods.
It is noted that shortages of humanitarian aid were detected due to the established mechanism of control over the receipt of humanitarian goods to military units. It makes it possible to promptly exchange information on the confirmation of receipt of aid, as well as to identify risky customs clearance.
