Occupiers forced Ukrainians to register their children as Russian citizens
The Russian invaders forced Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories to register their newborns as Russian citizens. If they refused, they were deprived of basic needs.

It is noted that the Ukrainian parents faced pressure from the Russians at the beginning of the occupation.
When we asked for nappies, the Russians told us: If you come without Russian birth certificates, we will not give you nappies," said 42-year-old Nataliya Lukina.
In addition to nappies, the invaders also refused to give baby food. Reuters requested confirmation of the information from the FSB intelligence service, but did not receive a response. It is this service that helps enforce rules in the occupied territories.
It is noted that most parents were forced to receive assistance from the occupants as they were left without means of subsistence.
It is not yet known exactly how many children have applied for Russian citizenship, as no such count has been kept.
A Kherson doctor, identified by Reuters as Remiga, said that Russia aggressively imposed its propaganda and actively threatened anyone who refused to register children as Russian citizens.
