The opinion poll shows that Mordaunt in the final election of the leader of the Conservative Party wins over any of the rivals.
After the second round of the election of the head of the Conservative Party of Great Britain, five candidates remained for this post. The Air Force is talking about it.
According to the results of the second round, Attorney General Suella Braverman dropped out of the race, for whom the fewest Conservative deputies voted - 27 people.
Former British Treasury Secretary Rishi Sunak received 101 votes; ex-secretary of defense, junior trade policy minister Penny Mordaunt - 83 votes.
British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss is still in third place with 64 votes. Also in the top five are former Minister for Local Government and Communities Kemi Badenok with 49 votes and MP Tom Tugendhat with 32 votes.
According to The Telegraph , junior British trade secretary Penny Mordaunt, who claims to be the leader of the Conservative Party, promises to strengthen assistance to Ukraine and cooperation with the EU and the US if elected. She said that she received a refugee from Ukraine in her house, met with Ukrainian deputies and joined the campaign to encourage British businesses and citizens to help Ukrainians.
We will double our cooperation with the US and the EU, as well as other key partners in harmonizing military support, while encouraging our European allies to do more, Mordaunt said.
She also noted her commitment to sanctions against Russia, further training of the Ukrainian military in Britain.
We did not seek confrontation with Russia. But Putin's act of aggression against his neighbor means that we cannot pass by and do nothing. The struggle of the Ukrainian people against their invaders is also our struggle,” said Mordont.
Voting will be repeated until there are only two candidates left. If no one withdraws their candidacy, three more preliminary rounds will be needed.
The nominations of the two remaining applicants will be submitted to the consideration of all members of the Conservative Party.
