North Korean general seriously wounded in Kursk region - WSJ

Information about a wounded North Korean general in Kursk Region has attracted the attention of the world community, becoming a new evidence of the DPRK's involvement in the Russian-Ukrainian war. The Wall Street Journal quoted Western officials as saying that this is the first confirmed case of a high-ranking North Korean military officer being a victim of hostilities related to the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
The general was reportedly wounded in a Ukrainian strike near Kursk. The case highlights North Korea's growing involvement in military actions on the side of Russia. Previously, North Korea has already supplied long-range artillery and missile systems to Russia, and now the possibility of sending North Korean warships to Russia is being discussed
According to experts' estimates, as reported by Bloomberg, North Korea may send up to 100 thousand soldiers to support Russia. The soldiers are expected to arrive in Russia in batches and be sent to the front. If this scenario materialises, it will be one of the largest cases of direct military cooperation between the DPRK and Russia.
The dispatch of North Korean soldiers and the participation of high-ranking military officers in the conflict indicate that the war in Ukraine is taking on an increasingly global scale. As analysts emphasise, increased military cooperation between Russia and the DPRK may not only affect the course of the conflict, but also complicate diplomatic relations of both countries with the rest of the world.
Ukraine and its international partners are closely following the development of the situation in order to assess the risks and form an appropriate response.
