Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, more than 700 civilians have died in Chernihiv due to the actions of the occupiers. In city cemeteries, new graves are still being dug, as well as finding new victims of the war. It is reported by the BBC .
According to the secretary of the Chernihiv City Council Oleksandr Lomako, more than 700 civilians were killed. The publication notes that there are a lot of fresh graves in the city cemeteries, some of them have flowers and lamps left. Burial places are marked with plaques indicating names, as well as dates of birth and death.
After the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine, the ancient city of Chernihiv was subject to numerous bombardments.
The mayor of Chernigov, Vladislav Atroshenko, said that in order to rebuild the city destroyed by Russian troops, it would take at least four years. Approximately 150 high-rise residential buildings received serious damage.
In Chernihiv, the payment for the service of water supply, sewerage, garbage collection and rent for March and April was canceled. In May, the issue of payment will be reviewed again, but the decision will depend on the situation with the fighting.
