Electricity has stopped coming from Romania.
Power went out in some regions of the country, European Pravda has reported, citing NewsMaker and TV8. The high voltage line Іsakcea-Vulcanesti-MDRES ceased to function. Through this line Moldova used to receive electricity coming from Romania.
the outage occurred at about 4:40 p.m. according to power grid operator Moldelectrica, just in time to coincide with a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine.
- Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister Andrei Spinu said the reason for the power cut was Russia's rocket attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, he said in his Telegram channel:
Russia's shelling of the Ukrainian energy system in the last hour has automatically shut down one of the transmission lines that provides electricity transmission for our country (automatic load shedding by frequency), resulting in massive power cuts across the country.
However, he also noted that the lines were not damaged and the power was cut for the safety of the grid
