Hungarian Foreign Ministry considers Hague arrest warrant against Putin "symbolic"

Hungary believes that Putin simply will not travel to states where he may be detained.
The Hungarian deputy foreign minister and parliamentary state secretary, Levente Madyar, said this in a commentary to Suspylnyi.
Madjar believes that Putin simply will not go to states where he can be detained, which makes the ICC warrant "symbolic".
We are convinced that symbolic action will not bring this war any closer to an end. I think this particular case is rather symbolic, because obviously the Russian President will not go to any country where he might be arrested. So it is a message, but only a symbolic message.
At the same time the Hungarian Foreign Ministry assures that they are in favour of justice, and that those who are involved in war crimes must be held accountable under the law.
This Hungarian position applies to all cases, regardless of nationality, country or any affiliation. We are convinced that justice wins in the end. Perhaps in the longer term than in the short term. Let's say we generally support justice, no matter how hard it is to achieve. But this is what we think and this is what we have been voicing since the beginning of this conflict.
