Manicure trends 2025: what will be in fashion this autumn
The autumn/winter 2025 fashion shows made it clear: freedom of expression will reign in manicures.
On the New York catwalks, nail art ranged from minimalism to bright glitter with feathers and rhinestones. According to stylists, everyone will find a trend to their liking - whether it's natural nails or fancy designs with a twist. Elle has collected all the autumn trends.
One of the brightest examples is the Meruert Tolegen show, where nail art on a dark burgundy background was complemented by miniature pearls. Master Naomi Yasuda chose Bloody Merlot from Addiction Tokyo, describing it as "sweet and spicy at the same time".
At the Christian Cowan show, nail artist Julie Kandalek decorated the models' nails with feathers attached to the tips, creating a writing pen effect. A delicate shade of CND's Shellac Powder My Nose was used as a base.
Diotima surprised by being graphic: the nails were adorned with a thin red line down the centre.
At the Anna Sui show, rich dark brown returned to fashion. This deep shade was a real breath of freshness after a light summer manicure. JINsoon presented Risqué, a dark berry and rich colour that was also used at the Christopher John Rogers show. His models wore short nails with a classic squoval shape (something between a square and an oval).
At the Monse show, the masters applied Fire Clay, a deep terracotta shade that instantly went on fashionistas' wish lists.
However, naturalness is also in fashion. Many models at the Lingua Franca, Altuzarra and Jonathan Simkhai shows did not even wear nail polish at all. At most - transparent or flesh-coloured lacquer, which perfectly matches the natural plate and well-groomed cuticles.
For those who prefer glitter, stylists offer an alternative - a bling-bling manicure. At the Alice + Olivia show, Miss Pop's star master presented sharp chrome nails studded with rhinestones from Salon Perfect. And at The Blonds show, long nails were decorated with a scattering of white crystals of different shapes.
This season everyone can find something different - from natural looks to manicures worthy of a party. The main thing is not to be afraid to experiment, because autumn 2025 promises to be especially bright.
