Ukraine continues rescue operations and the president calls on the international community for decisive action against Russia.

On the night of 8 November, the Russian occupiers again launched a massive strike on Ukraine: more than 450 drones and 45 missiles of various types were fired at the country's territory. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised in his Telegram channel that the aggressor's targets remained unchanged - residential buildings, energy and infrastructure.

Consequences of the attacks

  • In Dnipro, Russian missiles hit a residential building. The rescue operation continues: 11 wounded, including children, and one dead are known. Dozens of people have been rescued.

  • One person was killed in Kharkiv region. There are casualties in the Kiev and Poltava regions.

  • The strikes also hit Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovograd, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Chernihiv regions, and Odessa region has been attacked since the evening.

The president stressed that all services are working everywhere to minimise the consequences of Russian attacks.

Zelensky said that Russia's resources for warfare should be limited through additional sanctions. He called for:

  • freeze Russian assets in Europe;

  • impose sanctions on the entire Russian energy industry, including nuclear power;

  • limit the supply of microelectronics for the Russian military-industrial complex;

  • increase pressure on oil and gas trade.

Every strike by Moscow on the energy sector, with which they want to harm ordinary people before winter, should be accompanied by a sanctions response," the president stressed.

He noted that Ukraine counted on the relevant decisions of the USA, Europe and the G7 countries to increase pressure on the aggressor and protect Ukrainian citizens.
