South Korea will increase aid to Ukraine

The Republic of Korea will increase the volume of military and humanitarian aid provided to Ukraine in 2023. Korean President Yun Seok-yeol said this at a briefing after talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kiev.

He noted that last year the South Korean government allocated 100 million dollars to support Ukraine. This year, this support will reach 150m dollars.

The South Korean head of state noted that his country also plans to increase assistance to Ukraine in rebuilding destroyed schools and to contribute to the education of Ukrainians.

We would like to provide Ukraine with support for future generations through the scholarship of the two presidents," Yoon Seok-yeol said.

The South Korean leader once again assured Volodymyr Zelensky that Seoul supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.

The President of Ukraine thanked his colleague and noted that South Korea provides Ukraine with significant political, economic, humanitarian and security support.

In particular, I am happy to say that the agreement on the transfer of transport and special-purpose equipment, including mine-clearing vehicles, is already being implemented," Zelenskyy said.

In addition, the presidents discussed the Ukrainian peace formula, the return of deported Ukrainians, economic co-operation and energy security.
