Russia's overnight combined attack on Kiev left at least six people dead and more than 80 injured.

Among the dead is a six-year-old boy who died in an ambulance. This was reported by the head of the Kiev city military administration, Timur Tkachenko.

Residential neighbourhoods and social infrastructure are under attack

According to Tkachenko, the total number of victims at the moment is 82 people, of whom 44 are in hospitals. Among the injured are at least ten children, including a five-month-old girl who was also hit. Five of the children are in hospital facilities.

The Russians did it. The boy could not be saved. The girl, a five-month-old girl, was hit. She was hit by the Russians," the head of the KGVA said, emphasising that the data on the injured is still being clarified.

The attack also caused serious damage to the city's infrastructure. More than a hundred objects were damaged, including:

  • residential buildings,

  • schools,

  • kindergartens,

  • medical centres,

  • higher educational institutions.

This is where the Russians are hitting. A direct hit by a missile destroyed the entrance of a nine-storey building in the Svyatoshinsky district. Once again. This is the enemy's style, - said Tkachenko.

Rescuers, volunteers and all services are working

All relevant services, including rescuers, medics, utility workers, as well as volunteers and humanitarian organisations are working on the site of destruction.

All volunteers and organisations that were around after past attacks are back on the ground. It's a tough day, but we'll get through it and get through it. And fatigue, and death, and Russian aggression, - said the head of the KGVA.

Combined strike: missiles and drones

On the night of 31 July, Russian troops launched a combined strike on the capital, using both missiles and kamikaze drones. According to the city authorities, the greatest destruction was recorded in Svyatoshynskyi and Solomenskyi districts, as well as in Goloseevskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts.

The missiles hit directly into residential buildings, causing the collapse of entrances and the deaths of civilians. In some cases, the explosions occurred while people were still asleep, significantly increasing the number of casualties.

Restrictions in the city

Due to the damage and rescue work , traffic restrictions have been imposed in the capital. Several streets and avenues are blocked, the route of trolleybus No. 27 has been shortened - it temporarily runs only to Domostroitelny Kombinat No. 3. Despite the serious damage and losses, Ukrainian services are continuing to rescue people from under the rubble, provide assistance to the injured and restore the city's critical infrastructure.
