A man who collected weapons at abandoned Russian combat positions has been uncovered and reported on suspicion in Kherson region.



This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General.

In Kherson exposed a man who traded in Russian weapons and ammunition Vysokopolye settlement was suspected of illegal handling of weapons, ammunition and explosives (part 1 of article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Investigators found out that the suspect was looking for trophy weapons, ammunition and explosive devices on the abandoned combat positions of the occupants in Bereslavsky district of Kherson region. The collected weapons the man was going to sell.

In September 2023, law enforcers documented the sale of two Russian-made rocket-propelled assault grenades by the defendant. For this he received more than 40 thousand hryvnias, - reported in the Office of the Prosecutor General.

In the garage of the suspect law enforcers conducted a search and found:

  • grenades of different types and fuses to them;
  • reactive signalling and illumination cartridges;
  • almost 1000 cartridges of different calibres.

The man was given a measure of restraint in the form of detention. The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the Main Department of the National Police in Kherson region.
