Keith Kellogg made a statement of support for Ukraine

Europe has become stronger and should be ready to support Ukraine without the United States, the general said.
Europe is now better prepared for an independent defence policy than ever before. European leaders now perceive Russia as an existential threat, whereas before they were dependent on its gas. This was stated in an interview with The Telegraph by General Keith Kellogg, special representative of the US President.
According to him, Donald Trump's relations with current European leaders, such as Friedrich Merz in Germany and Giorgia Meloni in Italy, are much better than with their predecessors. Moreover, NATO members have markedly increased defence spending, reflecting the continent's new level of preparedness.
This unity is real. One need only look at Sunday's conversation with European leaders after the Alaska summit, when they were already in Washington on Monday. Within 24 hours, world leaders had put everything aside to gather in the Oval Office to discuss the future of Europe. Exclusive. Putin misjudged that," Kellogg emphasised.
The general also warned that Europe needs to prepare for a scenario in which support for Ukraine falls on its shoulders without decisive US involvement.
It's better to be prepared. I don't think America will completely withdraw its troops, but Europe should be able to stand on its own feet. At this point, Europe is almost self-sufficient in supporting Ukraine's military effort because of a cohesion we haven't seen before," Kellogg said.
