According to media reports, Israel agreed after the US presidential administration urged it to look beyond humanitarian aid.

Journalist Avi Sharf, who writes a regular column for Haaretz, reported:

Israel has given NATO members, notably the UK, permission to supply Ukraine with weapons systems, notably fire control and electro-optical systems, which contain Israeli components. It has also agreed to purchase strategic materials.

It is noted that the equipment will be transferred through the NATO country which supplies weapons to Ukraine.

We shall remind you that earlier Israel attacked a military airfield in Syria. Two servicemen were killed and three were wounded.

The airbase was used by the Russian and Iranian militaries. The Russian military has been expanding the runway and underground facilities, including shelters for planes, for the last three years.
