Israel gives Ukraine intelligence to help shoot down Iranian drones

Ukrinform

Ukrainian officials believe that Iran is testing its drones in Ukraine in order to use them in Israel.

The NYT writes about this with reference to Ukrainian officials. It wrote:

A Ukrainian official, speaking off the record, said Israel provided intelligence useful for targeting Iranian drones.

After the increasing frequency of attacks by Russians with the help of Iranian drones, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba turned to Israel with a request for air defense systems. The claim was rejected by Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz. According to him, Israel will provide early warning systems, but not air defense systems.

Yuriy Sak, an adviser to Ukraine's defense minister, believes Israel is missing out on an opportunity to hone its tactics against threats on its soil by assisting in the fight against drones currently in use in Ukraine. Yuri Sak said:

These Iranian drones that are attacking Ukrainian cities were not designed or intended for Ukraine. They were developed as a massive means of attacking Israel. They are using Ukraine as a proving ground to see weaknesses, hone them, and sooner or later they will use them against Israel.
