A Russian missile has destroyed part of the building of the Boychuk Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design in Kyiv. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy on 25 March.
During the morning shelling of Kyiv as a result of falling debris from a missile fired by the Russian Federation, the central part of the building of the Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after Mykhailo Boychuk was destroyed," the ministry said.
In particular, the sports hall, congress hall and exhibition centre were completely destroyed. Also, the premises of departments and classrooms of the institution were significantly damaged.
Law enforcement agencies and the State Emergency Situations Service are working on the site. According to preliminary information, there are no fatalities, the head of the laboratory of the Academy was injured. She was hospitalised.
As soon as possible, the scale of destruction will be assessed and measures will be taken to carry out emergency work on the destroyed facilities.
