The surest way to avoid spoilage of products is to strictly follow the manufacturer's recommendations, because the rules of care are always described on the packaging or on the factory tag.
Terry towels can become stiff after washing for several reasons. For example, if the detergent is not completely rinsed out during washing, residue may remain on the fibres of the towels, making them stiff. The water itself can also make them stiff. It can contain high levels of minerals such as calcium and magnesium, which can settle on the towel fibres and make them stiff. Over-drying also contributes to the stiffness of tkin. Drying them for too long can cause them to over dry, making them stiff and rough.
There are simple methods to make terry towels that have already been washed soft and fluffy again with minimal effort and expense:
Homemade conditioner. Mix 1/2 tbsp vinegar, 1/2 tbsp baking soda, 5-10 drops of your favourite essential oil and 1 litre of water. Pour this rinse aid into a container with a lid and add 200-250 ml to the water with each wash.
Soaking in water. Often in the fibres of towels remain detergents that are poorly rinsed out during machine washing. In this case, already washed towels should be soaked in clean water for a long time. After about 8-10 hours you should take them out and spin them well.
Balls for washing. They can be purchased at the hardware shop. Throw them into the machine drum when you are washing towels. They will whip up the lint of the products.
Salt. Approximately three tablespoons can be added to the detergent compartment. It will soften the fabric.
Vinegar. Pour 1/2 tbsp. of the product into the rinse aid compartment to soften terry and waffle towels.
Soda solution. Dissolve 3 tbsp. of soda in 1 litre of water, pour into a basin and soak textiles in it immediately after washing for 1.5-2 hours. After the time has elapsed, rinse the laundry thoroughly.
Glycerine: Add a small amount of glycerine to the rinse compartment when washing towels. Glycerine helps to preserve the softness of the fabric.
