Healthy, smooth, shiny: how to achieve the "rich" hair effect

Experts' top tips for 'rich' hair: luxury starts at the roots.
In 2025, the fashion emphasis has shifted - now the main sign of grooming and status is not flashy styles and volume, but so-called "rich hair": smooth, shiny, as if polished to a lustre, which immediately gives away competent care and inner health, writes Harper's Bazaar India.
Experts say: glossy hair starts not with salon treatments, but with scalp care.
"No serums and stylers will give a lasting effect if the foundation - the scalp - is not healthy," emphasises Saloni Anand, co-founder of the Traya brand.
Hair reacts quickly to stress, hormones and nutrition. It is often the condition of the hair that signals internal problems to the body.
The right care doesn't necessarily require complicated rituals: regular massage to stimulate circulation, gentle cleansing without aggressive shampoos, minimising styling products and patience - changes will show up in at least 12 weeks.
"Instead of aggressive straightening (or curling - ed) treatments, it's better to maintain natural texture, nourish, moisturise and protect hair from heat and humidity," advises Saumya Yadav, founder of the brand &Done. Perfect styling is not about product overload, but balance.
The final touch is the details.
"The difference between simply beautiful and truly 'rich' hair is the finish: shine, softness and movement," says Harsh Nepali of Biotop India. The key is not just serums, but also choosing the right shampoo, conditioner and, importantly, regular application of nourishing masks, especially for dryness and frizz-prone hair.
It is better to choose formulas with quinoa proteins and keratin, which restore the structure of the hair.
Persistent, "rich" shine is impossible without consistency: even the best product will not give an instant miracle. Truly well-groomed hair is the result of daily care.
