GUR confirms death of Russian pilot who drove a Russian Mi-8 into Ukraine

Russian pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who had driven a Russian Army Mi-8 helicopter into Ukraine last summer, has been found dead in Spain.
This information was confirmed by a representative of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Andriy Yusov, in a commentary for Suspilnyy.
We can confirm the fact of death," Yusov said.
At the same time, in a commentary for Ukrayinska Pravda, a representative of the GUR said that the Russian pilot had been shot dead.
He decided to move to Spain instead of being here. From what we know: he invited his ex-girlfriend to his place and was found shot dead," the report said.
Not far from the scene of the incident "found a burnt-out car, on which presumably fled the liquidators".
We will remind, in the summer of 2023 it became known that the Russian helicopter Mi-8 together with the crew landed on the territory of Ukraine. The pilot Maxim Kuzminov went to co-operate with the GUR and transported the helicopter to the territory of Ukraine. For this, he received a reward of 500,000 dollars in hryvnya equivalent.
