Gundyaev urged Russians to thank God for living in a free country
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Kirill, counted five "truly free" countries.
The head of the Russian Orthodox Church Kirill (Vladimir Gundyaev) explained to Russians that they live in a free country in prosperous times and that they "should thank God that they live in a really free country".
I counted five such countries in all. Maybe a little more. All the rest are not really free," the ROC leader said in his sermon after the service in the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God Znamenie in Moscow.
He did not specify which countries he was referring to, but apparently he was referring to Russia's allies that are part of the "axis of evil," including Iran and North Korea.
In addition, he urged to pray "for the Fatherland, for the Supreme Commander-in-Chief - an Orthodox man, who has been entrusted with a "great responsibility from above" and for the soldiers, that is, for those who daily kill the peaceful population of Ukraine.
It should be noted that the head of the Russian Orthodox Church supports the war and the killing of Ukrainians and blesses the killing of Russian soldiers. The United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, Ukraine, Australia, Australia and New Zealand have imposed sanctions against Kirill. He is also banned from entering Lithuania.
