The occupiers have large stocks of surface and underwater missile carriers.

Russian troops retain a powerful missile potential and are capable of simultaneously launching up to 56 Kalibr-type cruise missiles at the territory of Ukraine. This was stated by the speaker of the Operational Command South, Nataliya Humenyuk, on air during a telethon.

The occupants possess a sufficient number of missiles to carry out massive air attacks. The level of missile threat remains high despite the dispersal of the Russian ship grouping after the strike on the ship repair plant in Kerch and the absence of missile carriers in the Black Sea," she said.

Gumenyuk added that Russian missile carriers are in bays due to powerful storms, but the occupiers can also strike directly from the bays.

"Kalibr" is a whole family of cruise missiles developed by the Russian Novator design bureau. They were first presented to the public in 1993. In the armament of the aggressor country there are: missile systems "Kalibr" for arming submarines, missile systems for arming combat surface ships, mobile missile systems "Kalibr-M", missile systems of air-based missile weapons "Kalibr-A".

The Kalibr cruise missile is 6.2 to 8.2 metres long. Its mass ranges from 1.9 to 2.3 tonnes, including the warhead weighs from 200 to 450 kilograms depending on the modification. The missiles can hit enemy targets at different distances - from 200 to 2,500 kilometres. The missile flies to the target at ultra-low altitudes - only 10 to 20 metres above the ground at a speed of 180 to 240 metres per second.

Ukraine's air defence systems allow it to shoot down the Kalibras.
